What We Do

The Artist Guides is unlike anything else out there. We teach and coach the entire process of building a career, from creating your music through to releasing and promoting.

We feel privileged to have already helped thousands of independent artists. The modern music industry belongs to artists who learn, develop, and invest in themselves.

Who We Are

The Artists Guides’ founders, James Brister and Sean McDermott have over 35 years of joint experience in the music industry.

We specialise in artist management, performance, musicianship, music business, artist development, and career coaching.

What We've Done

Our previous and current music industry roles include Directorships, Artist Manager, Head of Marketing, Artist Development Manager, Head of Sales, consulting, and lecturing.

Both founders also worked for many years on the senior management team at the UK’s leading music college (The ICMP) in London, building an industry network, creating a music careers service, coaching artists, teaching, and developing courses.

We have also built a YouTube Channel to help music artists.

What We Also Do

Before the Artist Guides, we established the artist management company Amour:Music in 2012 and manage a varied roster of artists, songwriters and producers.

Our artists have achieved millions of plays on streaming services, performed live in theatres and arenas around the world, built audiences and fanbases, released numerous singles, EPs and albums, and written and produced tracks for an array of acts.
